Sinai's Message For Our Times

Während des gesamten Seminars werden interaktive Programme und Schiurim zu verschiedenen Themen angeboten. Wir bieten auch einen jungen Minjan mit schönen Liedern und Erklärungen an, bei dem das Schavuot- und Schabbatgebet verständlich und inspirierend werden. Die erste Nacht von Schavuot werden wir ein Lern-Programm veranstalten.

Our behavior online is being watched, always. At the same time, we’re constantly watching others who are not directly aware of our probing eyes. Leading up to our evening’s class on social media, we’ll participate in an immersive workshop that will have us become more aware and sensitive to the dynamics of watching and being watched.

The holiday’s date is not given in the Torah and its historical significance goes unmentioned. Even its name has no connection to its history defining importance. This would seem to be the most underrated date on the calendar, until we learn the life changing lesson behind the day’s anonymity.

Über den Referenten:
Since his teen years, Rabbi Ozzie Burnham’s driving force has been, in his own words, to “carry the Jewish ball downfield”. With his deep passion and experience in Jewish education, Ozzie co-founded MEOR Maryland, a kiruv organization at The University of Maryland. He served as its Director of Education for over a decade. Ozzie's talents in strategy, systems, and communications led him to become MEOR's National Director of Operations, overseeing over twenty campus branches nationwide. 

In 2015 Ozzie opened Oztonish Consulting, a strategic growth consulting firm that helps Jewish non-profits "do more, raise more, and stress less". Rabbi Ozzie and his wife Rachel are lay leaders in their community of Silver Spring, MD and active volunteers for schools and kiruv organizations. By far though, the best kiruv talents in their family are their two year old son and 8 month old daughter.
